Dr. Cunningham earned BS and MS degrees in Kinesiology from Ohio University and Texas A&M University and a PhD (2016) in Neuroscience from Kent State University. He has chosen a career in neurorehabilitation research because of he is fascinated by human physiology and its ability to self-regulate and adapt to a variety of conditions through mechanisms of homeostasis. Specifically, he's interested in the central nervous system and its ability to reorganize following neurological injury. His career focus is to understand how the brain and body adapts to neurological injury and decline in order to better treat neurologically based impairments.
